St Andrew's is led by its experienced Manager, Stella Woods, who is in charge of a qualified team of Nurses, Carers and Domestic staff, all of whom are dedicated to carrying out their duties 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
Stella has worked within the elderly care sector for over 23 years, in both clinical and non-clinical roles. Stella and her staff are driven in the promotion of St Andrew’s and maintaining its consistently excellent reputation in the local area. Stella prides herself in ensuring that St Andrew’s has a warm and friendly atmosphere, where all residents can feel comfortable and cared for.
We continually invest in training our people and actively encourage and support NVQ qualifications in care in order to develop them. We don't just aim to achieve the training requirements of the Care Quality Commission (CQC), but to exceed them. Indeed, we consistently have 75% of staff with NVQ qualifications, well in excess of CQC's target of 50%.
In addition our Care & Training Manager provides all staff with extensive in-house induction training, regular mandatory training and additional specialist training in many areas. We believe training is fundamental to improving the care provided to all residents.
We are very proud of the long length of service of many of our staff and this in turn helps us to provide a stable and caring environment for our residents. Our staff also provide an extensive and innovative activities programme to encourage residents to enjoy their stay to the full.
